Our Counsellors
Our counsellors at Lily are all highly qualified and highly skilled female psychologists and psychotherapists. They have special interests in women's issues and have undergone extra training in their respective areas of interest. They are professional, supportive, sensible, positive and warm. They listen, understand, support and provide useful strategies to help with problems in all areas of life. All our counsellors are fully registered with their respective professional associations eg. Psychologists' Board of Queensland. They abide by the strict ethical and confidentiality guidelines of their Professional Associations.
Christine Bagley-Jones - Principal Psychologist
Christine is a registered psychologist with over twelve years' experience who draws from a wide range of therapeutic approaches and perspectives to impart creative strategies for achieving mental, social, emotional and physical well-being. She is very successful in helping individuals, couples and families with such issues as depression, anxiety, self esteem, pain management, work stress, relationships and substance misuse.
Denise Britton - Principal Psychologist
Denise is both a registered psychologist and qualified social worker with over twenty five years' experience in counselling, assessment, mediation and report writing. She has run private practices in Rockhampton and on Wickham Terrace for over twenty years and is respected for her work with people facing the courts for various reasons, as well as for providing therapy for all age groups, covering a wide range of concerns. Denise understands the issues confronting the modern woman - whether juggling family and career or seeking a more fulfilling path in life. She respects the right of her clients to grasp control of ther lives and enjoys facilitating their self discovery. Denise is also a partner of Brisbane Mediations.
Kathy Ballantyne
Psychologist
Kathy is both a registered psychologist and hypnotherapist with over fifteen years experience workng with people from many diverse backgrounds on a wide range of issues in both organisational settings and private practice. She has a broad range of experience working with issues such as anger management, anxiety, authentic self, body image, confidence, couples counselling, depression, pain management, self esteem, sexual abuse, relationship issues and trauma. Kathy has been trained in Positive Psychology, Energy Psychology and Psychoneuroimmunology (Mind Body interaction.) Kathy enjoys assisting clients in accepting themselves and discovering their character strengths. She also has a keen interest in mind/body/spirit issues.
Margaret Pope
Psychologist
Margaret is a registered psychologist and qualified psychotherapist with over 20 years experience. She has worked with a wide range of clients in the Department of Corrective Services, the corporate sector and in private practice. Margaret's main focus is to help her clients discover the authentic self and reach their true potential. She successfully uses a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and has a keen interest in Jungian psychology and unconscious processes.
Sue Hutchinson-Phillips
Psychologist
Sue is a registered psychologist and hypnotherapist with extensive experience working with all different age groups, couples and families. Sue offers: Counselling ; Therapy; Educational, Personality and Behavioural Assessment for children and adults; assistance in managing Anxiety, Stress, Anger and managing change with self-defeating eating habits. Sue can also help when you are feeling "stuck" and want some objectivity to get you over that hump. Sue also specialises in hypnotherapy. Whilst undergoing hypnosis, a person's state of consciousness allows therapeutic suggestions to be absorbed by the subconscious and embodied in desired behaviours and thoughts.
Natalie Rhodes

Natalie is a registered psychologist with extensive experience in working with children, families and adults. Her specialist skills are working with individuals who have experienced sexual assault and other forms of trauma. Natalie has also worked with young people, adults and their families who are affected by eating disorders. Natalie offers counselling, therapy and assessment services for a wide range of mental health concerns. She has experience in both the government and private sectors. Natalie uses a strengths-based approach to empower individuals and families to make positive life changes.
Geraldine George
Psychologist
Geraldine is a registered psychologist with over ten years experience in both the community sector and private practice. She uses a range of therapies to enable clients to challenge restrictive ways of thinking and to develop healthy ways of relating and being. Geraldine helps clients with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, grief, trauma and anger management. She is an empathic listener who successfully encourages clients to grow and increase their self acceptance.
Danielle Rye

Danielle is a registered psychologist and Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has experience in working with children, adolescents and adults - in both the public and private sectors. Specialising in clinical and forensic mental health, and with extensive experience counselling clients suffering from psychosis, Dani's compassionate, practical and professional approach has assisted clients with a range of psychological issues to achieve positive outcomes. Dani's counselling strengths include the ability to create a relaxed and supportive environment and to empower her clients allowing them to make lasting changes.
Sheryle May
Psychologist
Sheryle May is a registered psychologist who has experience and skill in working with adults, families, young people, and children presenting with a broad range of issues. Working from an holistic approach that involves a combined focus on the wellbeing of mind, body, and spirit, Sheryle incorporates aspects of both eastern and western psychology in her practice to assist clients in their understanding and approach to what creates difficulties or obstacles in their lives. With her accepting, non-judgemental, and supportive therapeutic style she encourages her clients to gain a deeper understanding and acceptance of themselves. Sheryle is also specialised in the area of sexual trauma and in working with the presenting symptoms and difficulties often associated with such a life experience.
